Back in 2001, Richard Mille launched his self-titled brand with a watch that was masculine in attitude and design. Inspired by Formula 1 and aerospace, he incorporated these then-new materials into his bold tonneau-shaped watches and focused on expanding the range of applications for watchmaking technology.
Richard Mille now expresses his feminine side with the RM07-01. While still possessing the DNA of a Richard Mille watch, the RM07-01 will definitely appeal to the ladies. There is no denying that women are very fond of jewelry. This rose gold model, called Full Set, is equipped with a diamond-set bezel and a dial with rose gold hands in a vibrant red color set off by diamonds. The raindrop-shaped indicator adds an elegant touch to the whole picture. Richard Mille’s signature tonneau-shaped case has been reduced in size and this watch complements the female wrist.

But this is a Richard Mille creation, remember, so you know there will be the latest technology under the hood. Most women’s mechanical watches are on loan, which means the manufacturer uses movements originally designed for men’s watches. Richard Mille went a step further and made a brave bow to women by building the movement for the RM07-01 from scratch.
Like all Richard Mille creations, the CRMA2 movement is a tough customer, with a base plate and bridges made of plated grade 5 titanium mounted on a chassis rubber held in place by two titanium screws. This automatic watch includes a variable inertia balance wheel and Richard Mille’s variable geometry rotor in 5N 18-carat red gold that adjusts the speed of the rotor to the level of the owner’s activity. In addition, ladies can enjoy Richard Mille’s patented crown, which, unlike traditional settings, is separate from the inside of the movement so that the mechanism is not endangered by the effects of everyday life.
Because Richard Mille believes that women should have access to and appreciate a refined machine, the RM07-01 is equipped with a skeletonized movement so that the high-tech mechanism can be seen. The balance wheel, located at 6 o’clock, is both a functional and a dynamic design component. The finishing is, of course, superb, with the movement surfaces brushed, bevelled and polished, and a mysterious and striking PVD treatment on the discs and bridges.
The RM07-01 wraps the wrist in a black rubber strap, and the black theme is artistically continued with a PVD-covered winding handle on the red gold crown. A lovely piece of technical expertise and artistic design, this watch was made for us. Richard Mille is a true ladies’ man.
